Crozet Needs Less Water

Changes in population assumptions and a 20 percent drop in per capita water use are two of the main factors driving down the projected water needs of the Crozet community in western Albemarle County.

I had no idea they were having a public meeting last night. Glad Charlottesville Tomorrow was there. (Have you ever considered donating to them? Without them, we’d know far less about what’s happening in our community)

  1. It was a good meeting. Quite informative. I thought it was interesting that Crozet uses less water outdoors (gardening, car washing, etc.) than the rest of the county on average. Go Crozet! Maybe we ARE learning to conserve.

    1. How does the Service Authority calculate indoor water us vs. outdoor water use?

Personally I would like to see more cisterns/rain barrels/water gardens near people’s drain spouts.  They can provide a lot of the water necessary to water lawns, flowers, and vegetables.  It seems we’re doing a pretty good job though.

Something to say?
