Support the Crozet Independence Day Parade & Fireworks (2016)

via email –

“We are writing to ask for your enthusiastic support of our small town tradition – our annual Crozet Independence Day parade and fireworks show!

This event helps maintain the best of Crozet – friends and neighbors coming together to enjoy good times, celebrate our nation’s independence and help out others.  It’s an event that brings our community together and is an important fund-raiser for many local organizations like the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department, Crozet Lions, and Claudius Crozet Park. Your attendance at the event helps them, too.

The fun starts on Saturday, July 2nd with a parade down Crozet Avenue starting at 5 p.m.  We’ll follow the parade to Crozet Park to enjoy good food, local beer and beverages and music by local band, Lockjaw. We finish with a grand fireworks show at 9:30.  Look for updates about the parade and celebration at http://CrozetCommunity.org and our Facebook page

The event planning committee, composed of volunteers from Crozet’s civic groups, is aiming to make the event self-sustaining, meaning that we want to reach the point where this year’s celebration generates enough to ensure that next year’s celebration will happen, too. The single largest expense is the fireworks show (roughly $8,000) and so far, despite good attendance at the park (last year we believe we had roughly 1500 people attend), the cost of the fireworks must be met by donations, as it traditionally has been.

Of course, we appreciate all donations, but to boost our efforts to cover expenses, we have three leadership donor levels and we are hoping that you will show your support by becoming a lead patron this year.

    • For a gift of $500 or more, we will prominently display your company banner you provide at the entrance to the park during the event, identify your patron status in the Crozet Gazette and event handbill and provide you with ten passes to the celebration in the park. • For a gift of $250, you will receive acknowledgment in the Crozet Gazette and event handbill and four passes to the celebration in the park. • And, for a gift of $100 you will receive two passes to the celebration in the park, published thanks in the Crozet Gazette and the event handbill.

July will be here before you know it.  Won’t you join us by sending a check or going online today to help with these expenses?  If being a lead patron is too much this, please send whatever you can afford to the Downtown Crozet Association and mail it to: DCA   P.O. Box 863, Crozet, Virginia 22932 and note on the memo line “fireworks donation” and don’t forget to tell us how you’d like to be recognized.

Or if you’d rather donate with a credit card or paypal, go to: http://crozetcommunity.org/2016/05/donate-to-cidc2016/#here
Either way, please give as generously as you can, so that our entire community will once again enjoy this patriotic tradition.
Sincerely,

Michael Marshall, President                     Tim F. Jost Tolson, President
