Crozet Yoga Moving to Crozet Shopping Center

Thank goodness they are staying in downtown Crozet!

via their email:

After a wonderful first year in our space in Piedmont Place, Santosha will be moving down the road to the Crozet Shopping Center opening on January 1, 2018.

The new and improved space will include sunlight (!), a larger lobby and lounge, retail shop and second studio which we will utilize for childcare in the mornings as well as to expand our offerings. Our vision is that Santosha becomes a community and wellness center – a hub for a community looking to move the needle in terms of health, happy living – for ourselves as well as for our kids. Our hours will be expanded, so if you want to come well before class starts you can relax and have a cup of tea and read your book or stop by around lunch for a visit.

We thank you all so much of your support through this first year and we appreciate your business. We would love your input on how we can best serve you in year two. If you would take a moment to fill out this survey we can offer you an additional 10% off a retail item or workshop of your choice in the next 6 months.

Regatta on Saturday at Beaver Creek!

There’s a Regatta this weekend at Beaver Creek!

From the Beaver Creek Sculling’s site:

Register for the 5th annual Dam Turn Regatta, November 11, 2017 Register! This invitational race will take place on Beaver Creek Reservoir in Crozet, VA. We are about 15 miles west from Charlottesville. The regatta is open to novices, juniors and masters rowing singles, doubles, and quads. Come row a challenging 2,500m course in a pastoral scene on protected water close to home.

Parking at Beaver Creek Reservoir is FREE! There is parking adjacent to the boathouse and across the road. Volunteers will be on hand to direct parking. Rigging of boats can be done right behind your car.

Bathroom facilities in the park are clean and easily accessible. No port-a-potties!

Spectating area: best views are on the grassy field next to the pier and the public launching dock.

Also, via email:

SMOJO at Piedmont Place will be at the Dam Turn Regatta selling hot meals and hot drinks! They will be our only food provider for the day and they have generously agreed to donate a portion of all sales back to BCS! Be sure to plan on lunch with SMOJO on Saturday and invite your friends and family to do the same!

Our BCS apparel team will be at the Dam Turn Regatta selling shirts! At just $15 for two you can stuff a lot of holiday stockings!

I thought the results were interesting. That’s all. From the Virginia Board of Elections.

Good turnout, too, if my math is right. (check it, please – total voter registrations by locality; votes by precinct). Thanks.

Crozet – 2,304 voted; 3,937 active, registered voters – 58.5%.

Brownsville – 2,688 voted; 4,617 active, registered voters – 58.2%.
