18 May 2016 CCAC Meeting Wrap-up

I’m going to update this post later today, but wanted to put this out this morning. Interesting discussions last night, it seems.

As always, click through, scroll to the end, and make your way back up.

Two notable tweets:

CCAC member Mary Gallo talks about trust broken in the past regarding Crozet population. Some background from 2009 http://bit.ly/1OAvO5G
What if all yellow was developed at high end -what’s our population? #CCAC0516No one knows.

CCAC Special Meeting – 5 May at 7pm – Recommending Adelaide Denial or Approval

Update – the meeting is THURSDAY at the Meadows

via email:

“Attached is an agenda for our meeting this week, Wed May 4 Thursday May 5 to be held 7pm at the Meadows at the Field School (note meeting location as the library and the Meadows were both already booked).  This is a special meeting that CCAC members requested since we ran out of time at our last meeting to discuss CCAC’s view of and any final comments we might wish to make to the PC and BOS on the revised proposed Adelaide Project SUP.

I also attach for easy reference (1) presentation on the revised project made by Kyle at our last meeting, including a link to the revised application materials, (2) County staff’s comment letter, and (3) the CCAC’s prior resolution on the project, all of which had been circulated previously.  See you all Wednesday!”
For background, see last week’s summary of the CCAC Meeting. Really. Spend some time catching up.

Interested in Serving on the CCAC? Learn More

I’ve gotten a couple questions about serving on the CCAC, since the tweets at last month’s CCAC meeting calling for volunteers to serve.  I asked David Stoner, Acting Chair of the CCAC, to answer some of those questions, and he quickly wrote this (the bolding is mine):

“The Crozet Community Advisory Committee (CCAC) is a 15-person advisory committee that provides assistance to County staff and the Board of Supervisors on civic/community issues related to implementation of the Crozet Master Plan in accordance with established county procedures.  The membership is broad-based to incorporate a variety of perspectives and ideas and to provide citizens, businesspersons and representatives of active community groups a chance to be engaged and be heard in a constructive and meaningful way.

Further information on the CCAC can be found here.

A fact sheet on the CCAC can be found here.

The CCAC members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. There are currently nine members whose terms are expiring in March 2016, although historically several open seats are filled by reappointments.

If you are interested in becoming involved in Crozet in this way, a link to the application can be found here.  Applications are due March 22, 2016.  If you would like to speak to someone for further information about possibly serving on the CCAC feel free to contact Dave Stoner, Acting CCAC Chairman at [email protected] or Emily Kilroy, Community Engagement Specialist, at [email protected]. ”

Thanks, David!
