Albemarle Police – Open House in Old Trail

The Albemarle County Police Department is holding an open house on Thursday to celebrate its new satellite office in Crozet.
The event, set from 6 to 9 p.m. at 1005 Heathercroft Circle, Suite 109 in Old Trail Village, will feature tours of the facility, live music, a fingerprinting activity for children and opportunities to interact with officers, according to a news release. Also participating are the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA and various Old Trail Village businesses.
The office was made possible through a partnership with Old Trail Village, and its opening represents a step toward establishing police precincts as part of the department’s “geo-policing” initiative, according to the release.
While the satellite office will not be staffed 24 hours a day, it provides officers a workspace in the western part of Albemarle County, the release states.
