Second Saturday Art Opening with Karyn Smith – “En Plein Air – Virginia Coastal Reserve”
March 11 @ 16:00 - 18:00Free
Art on the Trax will present “En Plein Air – Virginia Coastal Reserve” by Karyn Gunther Smith during the month of March, with a Second Saturday Artist Reception on Saturday, March 11th.
Karyn Smith wishes to draw attention to the natural beauty and bring a sense of connection between individuals and the environment. She hopes to heighten awareness of these fragile areas and inspire responsible stewardship. The paintings in this exhibit are from the magical landscapes around the barrier islands and coastal marsh of the Virginia Eastern Shore. Smith was invited as Artist in Residence by Dr. Art Schwarzschild of the Anheuser-Busch Coastal Research Center of the University of Virginia. Dr. Schwarzschild has promoted the linking of art and ecology through education and experiences.
Please join us for our Second Saturday Opening Reception on March 11th. This reception is part of Crozet’s Second Saturday events and runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. We’ll be serving up The Art Box’s famous ice cream sundaes topped with fruit from local orchards.
All events are free and open to the public. Art on the Trax is located at Creative Framing and The Art Box, across from the Olde Crozet Train Station, 5784 Three Notch’d Road in Crozet, Virginia.
