It’s Bin Fun: Sensory Play for Infants and Toddlers

Captivate your little scientist with open-ended, child-led play which engages the senses. The children will explore bins containing a variety of sensory materials. Things will get messy, so dress appropriately. Ages 6-35 months.

LEGO at the Library

It’s time to get building! Join other master builders for an hour of open-ended block building fun. The library provides the LEGOs, you bring your imagination. Ages 5-11.

SPCA Paws to Read

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to Lucy, a therapy dog. Lucy is a registered therapy animal with The Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Along with owner/handler Ellen, the team volunteers as part of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA therapy dog program. Sign up for a 15-minute appointment and bring a favorite book to read. For any young reader.

Stitches Handcraft Group

Bring any project you’re working on (or the materials for a project you’re interested in learning) and join this fun group for an hour of handcrafting and sharing. Ages 8 to adult.

Knit 1 – A 4-Week Workshop for Beginners

Commit to this four-week class and walk away with a pet critter designed and crafted by you. Ages 8+. Registration is required and begins May 30.

Wreck Your Notebook

Back to school is even more exciting when you customize your school supplies to fit your own style. Hang out with other middle-schoolers as you personalize your gear. You bring your folders, notebooks, binders, etc. and we’ll supply the materials… and some snacks of course. Grades 6-8.
