Stop at Crosswalks

Crozet Crosswalks

I* was riding my bicycle the other morning around 7:30, and stopped for two women trying to cross from the Piedmont Place side to the Post Office side of Crozet Avenue. They seemed perplexed for a moment when I stopped, and put my hand out to signal to the cars behind me.

One of the women said, “you don’t have to stop, the cars aren’t,” and I stayed put until they crossed.

Crozet Crosswalks

*Really didn’t want to make this a story about me as it’s a story about Crozet & neighborliness, but as I was the one on the bike …

250 in Ivy Closed; VDOT Working to Alleviate Traffic

Reminder: 250 in Ivy closed Friday 13 July at 8pm.

From Joel DeNunzio with VDOT:

Due to the closure of the Route 250 bridge over Little Ivy Creek, VDOT anticipates an increase in traffic accessing I-64 at exit #107 in Crozet.  Temporary changes at the I-64 #107 interchange have been made to better accommodate traffic over the next two weeks.

Temporary traffic control has been set up at the Crozet interchange to allow free flow traffic from I-64 west to Route 250 east.  In addition, the traffic patterns from Route 250 west to I-64 east have been modified to allow additional queuing on Route 250 if necessary.
These changes are temporary in support of the Route 250 closure at the Little Ivy Creek bridge closure for the next two weeks.  They are intended to provide better traffic flow and safer traveling conditions for the detoured traffic.
It’s going to be fine.

Encore Kids Clothing Now Open in Downtown Crozet

via email:
“The store is named Encore Kids Clothing and we are located at 5786B Three Notch’d Rd. in Crozet, between Santosha Yoga and Sam’s Hot Dog Stand. It would be great if you could mention that there is additional parking and another entry to the store in the back, in the alley between the century link brick building and Creative Framing.
The hours are not set in stone yet but, tentatively, for the next couple weeks, 10am-2pm.It’s best if folks check the Facebook page for updates or call. Phone is 434-282-0206. Email is [email protected]. We’ll be closed Mondays and open for longer hours on the weekends. The store does not do consignment. Instead it’s simply resale. People can sell me stuff or just shop or both! I have clothes from birth to age 16 as of right now.”
Best,
