I rarely do Public open houses because I think that they are more of an opportunity for the agent to gain buyers rather than actually sell the house. Selling open houses to clients as an efficient way to market their home seems disingenuous. However, this weekend I will be holding 720 Grayrock Drive open from 1 until 4pm, as the timing works out well for me and for my sellers. I am trying to continue my focus on the Crozet market so please stop by; this house is beautiful inside and out.

Kokopelli’s is moving (sort of)
Crozet’s best (and only) coffee shop, Kokopelli’s sent out this email this afternoon.Kokopelli’s is reaching new heights!… We will be offering breakfast and lunch, 7 days a week, from 8 am to 5 pm.Taking over the dinner and music business will be Charlie Mayer, opening “Uncle Charlie’s Smokehouse,” featuring great BBQ and other treats. Both businesses should open around Thanksgiving.Being the only hotspot in town is a nice deal too, I hope that continues. One day I was in there and saw an iPod running the music during the day and found out that the Scots, owners of Kokopelli’s, are mac people too – good to have around!
US Joiner coming to Crozet
In one of the few reasons to read the print version of the Daily Progress, they had a story yesterday about US Joiner moving from Waynesboro to Crozet. The article made it sound like they are going to bring high quality jobs to the area. This could be a very good move for them and for Crozet. As soon as it gets put online, I’ll post it.
Crozet’s water supply is sufficient
Brent, ACSA’s Executive Director – To facilitate orderly development as envisioned in the Comprehensive Plan, many millions of dollars have been invested in establishing the water and sewer infrastructure in Crozet. In addition to developing the utility backbone for future development, the authority is committed to maintaining the reliability of service to existing customers in Crozet. A $1.7 million project is currently under construction to replace existing water lines in the downtown area and residential areas north of downtown. There are no requests for water or sewer service or complaints of inadequate service in Crozet that have not been dealt with by the service authority. It just seems like there should be problems created by the growth in Crozet.

Innisfree Village
In light of last week’s posting on realcentralva.com about a “greener” Albemarle County comes this story from today’s Daily Progress about Innisfree Village in Crozet.“We want people to know about Innisfree and realize the incredible wealth of our gardens,†Ohle said. “It also provides more therapeutic work opportunities for our co-workers, which is our term for the people with developmental disabilities who live here.“As a result of the program, we now have extra work in harvesting and preparing the vegetables that are sent out to the subscribers. The number of different tasks and skill levels this provides is wonderful for our folks. We are lucky to have organizations such as this in our area.
