Art Fest in the West! 2016

ArtFest in the West is scheduled for Friday, 3/11/16, from 6:00-9:00pm, at WAHS, and this year’s event is being designed to be fun for kids of all ages. Mark Nizer, a world renowned entertainer, will be our Emcee for the night. It is an open-to-the-public, family-oriented event showcasing student art, music – vocal and instrumental, writing and photography by students from the six Western Albemarle County public schools. Here’s just some of what you can expect to enjoy:
- art showcase of student work,
- jazz performances (Henley M.S. and Western Albemarle H.S. jazz bands),
- a preview performance of the WAHS musical “Grease,”
- a 50s costume contest,
- hands-on art activities,
- a Silent Auction,
- great food, and more.
- Plus, Mark Nizer, world renowned juggler and entertainer, will be our emcee for the night
While it’s a fundraiser, there is no entrance fee.
ArtFest in the West is sponsored by AWE, Arts in Western Education, a 501c3 non-profit organization, which raises funds in support of arts education in the six Western Albemarle public schools: Crozet, Brownsville, Murray and Meriwether Lewis Elementary schools, Henley M.S. and Western Albemarle H.S.
