Crozet Trails Crew work day

Sunday morning work day to remove small stumps along the newly re-located trail adjacent to Lickinghole Basin. It will involve using shovels, mattocks, and saws to dig up or cut down all the tripping hazards along the trail. Meet at the trail entrance on Lake Tree Lane in Western Ridge at 9 a.m. Wear sturdy shoes, bring work gloves and water. Insect repellent is recommended. Children are welcome if accompanied by a parent.

Directions to site: From Three Notch’d Road (Rt 240) turn on to Park Ridge Drive (Sentara Family Medicine on the corner). After crossing the bridge over the railroad track, take the first left on to Lake Tree Lane. Drive 1/2 mile to trail entrance on the right, just past Vista View Lane. Parking is limited — car pooling is recommended. Or walk or bike to the trail.
