Second Saturdays Art Opening @ Art on the Trax with Linda Staiger and Christine McDowell Tucker

Art on the Trax will present “Shadow in Light” by Linda Staiger and Christine McDowell Tucker during the month of February, with a Second Saturday Artist Reception on Saturday, February 13th.

Local artists Linda Staiger and Christine McDowell Tucker have both been painting for the last 15 years. For Staiger, “Being outside, especially on the river, is good for the body; painting is a good place to be in my head.” Her work focuses on landscape, much on the Rivanna River. Meanwhile, Tucker’s work focuses on still life. For her, “Painting for me is a kind of meditation, a way of staying mindful…what I enjoy the most is the actual stillness of being in my studio painting quietly, making the objects come to life, telling a story of a moment in time.”

Please join us for our Second Saturday Opening Reception on February 13th. This reception is part of Crozet’s Second Saturday events and runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. We’ll be serving up The Art Box’s famous ice cream sundaes topped with fruit from local orchards.

All events are free and open to the public. Art on the Trax is located in Creative Framing and The Art Box, across from the Olde Crozet Train Station, 5784 Three Notch’d Road in Crozet, Virginia.
