“The Art of Chocolate”
September 10, 2016 @ 16:00 - 18:00

Crozet Artisan Depot is presenting the delectable and delicious artisanal chocolate of Cocoa & Spice. Jennifer will be at the opening reception on Saturday, September 10th from 4 to 6 p.m. in the historic Crozet train depot.
Jennifer Mowad began working with chocolate over 10 years ago. She is a graduate of the Ecole Chocolat Professional Chocolatier Program and completed an apprenticeship at East Van Roasters in Vancouver, Canada – a bean-to-bar, non-profit, chocolate shop. Jennifer founded Cocoa & Spice to share her love of chocolate with others and likes to utilize local ingredients whenever possible, but is always on the lookout for fun, unique ingredients when traveling. Two great examples include the Toasted Coconut & Curry Clusters – a combination of dark chocolate, Caribbean curry, and unsweetened, toasted coconut (inspired by a truffle she tasted in New York City), and the Cajun Bark – a combination of white chocolate, creole seasoning, and macadamia nuts (inspired by a trip to New Orleans).
The reception at Crozet Artisan Depot will include many samples of Cocoa & Spice products. In addition, Jennifer will display some of the tools she uses to create her line of chocolates, and will be happy to answer any questions about the art of working with chocolate.
