00:28:59 Michaela Accardi: Hi everyone, in addition to this meeting you're welcome to participate online regarding this topic at: https://publicinput.com/O2561 00:30:31 Allie Pesch: You are also able to use this chat feature to ask questions and leave comments and we will try to follow live. Thank you! 00:31:50 Allie Pesch: Open the participants list and you should see the Raise Hand button 00:52:35 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: Please feel free to add questions here if you have any 01:01:03 Joe Fore: Tim: Wickham Pond is split between Neighborhood (on the south) and urban (current)/middle density (proposed) on the north. So the proposal just extends the same pattern from Wickham Pond westward 01:03:30 Kyle: I think Sandra is making some valuable points 01:09:49 Joe Fore: Tim: I believe the “N” in the orange is currently the west side of Wickham, which is yet to be developed 01:10:38 Joe Fore: And then White Gate is just to the west of that 01:11:39 Jennie More: There is not enough time to cover all these comments and let the public give input 01:12:08 Zach Marlowe: I hope that these voices are really being heard and taken into account as we grow. 01:13:38 Thomas Adajian: Not clear on the staff answer to the question about the green space designation: Is that designation more than merely verbal, shorthand for "to be dealt with in the future"? 01:14:57 Michaela Accardi: Hi all - We appreciate your comments and feedback. We will bring these forward in discussions with the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors. There will be opportunities to comment at other phases of this process as the draft is prepared as well as opportunities to contact PC, BOS members by email and at future public hearings. 01:15:40 Jennie More: Please email me at jmore@albemrale.org. 01:15:49 Allie Pesch: Sorry, I didn’t know the attendees can’t see the Q&A—feel free to post those comments here if you intended them for all. 01:16:08 Thomas Adajian: Will the staff be directly addressing Thomas Loach's questions? 01:16:22 Jennie More: can staff please share a list of our emails so that public may make more comment since comment was cut short 01:18:41 Zach Marlowe: How does any area get change from neighborhood common land to a "park"? 01:19:14 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: If you didn't get to ask a question or have further comments please contact any of the following: Andrew Knuppel aknuppel@albemarle.org; Jennie More jmore@albemarle.org and Ann Mallek at amallek@albemarle.org 01:20:05 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: Also, 01:20:20 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: Rachel Falkenstein afalkenstein@albemarle.org 01:20:36 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: sorry that is rfalkenstein@albemarle.org 01:21:14 Caroline Walters: Can't see anything to do with Q&A 01:21:39 Thomas Adajian: I cannot see any Q & A. 01:21:58 Zach Marlowe: AGREE! 01:22:13 Thomas Adajian: Thank you, Allie Pesch. 01:22:52 Brian Day: This is too rushed - slow the process down 01:23:04 Tim Tolson: Totally SUPPORT Allie’s viewpoint on rushing through this meeting. We need more meetings on this topic… It’s the critical revision for the master plan revision 01:24:27 Brian Day: These proposals need to be n the Gazette - prior to approval 01:30:14 Zach Marlowe: Allie is correct... 01:30:30 Tim Tolson: Density is the way to get it — and have the developer make the profit they want. IF they make 10% profit, there 01:30:47 Tim Tolson: there is more money in $450K home than in a $250K home 01:31:30 Caroline Walters: The clearing of trees near Crozet Park off Indigo has a plan that shows villas (attached homes) similar to those in Glenbrook off Park Ridge Drive. Why is this area yellow and the Glenbrook area with villas is orange?? Should they not both be orange. And none of these locations are affordable - average price is about $380,000-400,000. 01:33:19 Tim Tolson: Caroline’s message about the area across from the park supports my point - it’s higher density and higher price homes because the developer makes more profit. 01:36:42 Zach Marlowe: Since when have the developers "helped" the community? It seems to me they are more interested in making a profit. 01:38:42 Kyle: I'm new to the area, and would like to thank all of the board members for facilitating this discussion. There is clearly not enough time to cover all of the issues. I sincerely hope that there will be another Zoom meeting in the near future. And that there would be some consideration to have the meeting in the evening so those who are working may be able to attend. Thanks again to all. 01:38:44 Tim Tolson: One of the issues with the 2010 Master Plan was the map being hard to read and difficult to parse consistently with the text. This new proposed map is MORE difficult to understand and review- it’s got more areas and land use designations. So it makes the 2010 problem worse, not better. 01:39:04 Allie Pesch: Andrew—Can the comments in the chat and Q&A please be sent to Jennie and Ann and the committee for us to look over? There are a lot of comments here I would like to have more time to read. 01:40:25 Tim Tolson: In answer to the Old Trail question- Emphatically NO. There is a process if need to change zoning to make it something else. 01:42:34 Jordan Wray: Well said, Joe. 01:42:43 Thomas Adajian: I second the view expressed by several people that this process seems excessively rushed -- more rushed than is adequate or healthy, given the number and importance of the issues being discussed. Will these issues be pursued in the Crozet Gazette? The lack of much genuine give and take between staff and panelists, including opportunities for follow-ups, is an additional worry. 01:45:06 Tim Tolson: Support the view that this process is being rushed - and it’s not a good thing. 01:47:37 David Deaton: def need another discussion -- thanks for hosting via zoom for greater participation. public sharing first is good. THANKS! 01:47:53 Tim Tolson: For Albemarle County Staff: how does one access the recording of this meeting? 01:49:15 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: For the Recording -- Please email me at cshaffer2@albemarle.org I will send you a link tomorrow 01:49:44 Carolyn Shaffer, Clerk: I believe that it will be uploaded to the publicinput page as well. 01:50:13 Michaela Accardi: Hi all - Staff uploads these recordings to YouTube after the meeting and we will post on the Public Input page here: https://publicinput.com/O2561 as well as on the Albemarle County calendar here: https://www.albemarle.org/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/555/16 01:51:18 Tim Tolson: It’s troubling that the community does not get to express concerns before the land use map goes to the Planning Commission. What is the rush? 01:52:07 Tim Tolson: The community 01:52:20 Tim Tolson: the community’s input is being sidelined by this process. 01:52:32 legomania: There needs to be further discussion based on the new markings on the map. I feel like not all questions were answered and there needs to be further clarification 01:53:49 legomania: a midday meeting during the work week is not an ideal time 01:54:31 Caroline Walters: And next time please have more ability to communicate - there's a Q&A that many can't see, there's the chat and there's people talking who can raise their hand. It's very confusing. 01:55:27 Caroline Walters: What public input site?? Also during the day is a terrible time for most residents even if we are mostly working from our homes - we are still working. 01:56:17 Zach Marlowe: Thank you Allie! 01:56:21 Michaela Accardi: Here is the link to the Public Input website, where there is an online feedback form with these questions: https://publicinput.com/O2561
