“It’s the Little Things” – New Jewelry Work by Kathleen Mistry
October 14, 2017 @ 15:00 - 17:00Free
During the month of October, Crozet Artisan Depot proudly presents new jewelry by our Featured Artist Kathleen Mistry. Kathleen will be at the Second Saturday Opening Reception on October 14th from 3-5pm in the historic Crozet train depot.
Kathleen’s new work is inspired by memories of some of nature’s fleeting moments: a dogwood blossom, a winter sunrise, misty woods, or a chickadee perched on a branch…Using distinctive pairings of etched brass, resin, and personal photographs, each piece captures a unique and special moment in the artist’s experience. This new collection of wearable art includes earrings, necklaces, cuff bracelets, rings, and pins.
Kathleen Mistry is a jewelry artist, painter, and community builder in the arts. She received a BA in Art from San Jose State with an emphasis in metal work and painting. As an adult education instructor, she specialized in helping people reconnect with their creativity. After moving to Crozet, VA, she became very involved with the artist community, serving as President at C’ville Arts for six years. She is especially proud to have been a founding partner at Crozet Artisan Depot. Although she recently relocated to Portland, OR, the decade she spent living and working in Central Virginia continues to inspire her work.
