During the month of February, Crozet Artisan Depot proudly presents the work of chocolatier Jennifer Mowad of Cocoa & Spice. Jennifer will be at the Second Saturday Opening Reception on February 10 from 3-5pm in the historic Crozet train depot.
The event will include many samples of Cocoa & Spice products as well as a display of the tools she uses to create her line of chocolates. She will be happy to answer any questions about the art of working with chocolate. In addition, Jennifer will be sampling her products at the depot on Sunday, February 4 and Sunday, February 11 from 12-5pm.
Jennifer is a graduate of the Ecole Chocolate Professional Chocolatier Program and completed an apprenticeship at East Van Roasters in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to her training as a Chocolatier, Jennifer attended Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA, earning a B.S. in Marketing and a M.S. in Instructional Technology. In July 2008, Jennifer relocated from Belleville, NJ to Charlottesville, VA to work for the Institute for Shipboard Education/Semester at Sea.
Jennifer left ISE to November 2013 to pursue her lifelong dream of operating her own business. She has worked in the hospitality industry for over 15 years in a variety of capacities and embraces the value of customer service and creating a warm, welcoming environment for customers. Jennifer began Cocoa & Spice to share her love of chocolate with others. She likes to utilize local ingredients whenever possible, but is always on the lookout for fun, unique ingredients when traveling.
