Lessons & Carols For Christmas

Hope Presbyterian Church of Crozet (in conjunction with Trinity Presbyterian Church of Charlottesville) is bringing Virginia’s longest running Lessons and Carols service to Crozet at King Family Vineyards on Sunday, December 14th at 7 pm. The service is modeled after the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols at King’s College, Cambridge, England. This beautiful holiday event  will feature choral music and congregational carols with orchestral accompaniment. Admission is free but a mercy offering will be collected to help with crisis needs in our community. More information is available at hopecrozet.org/LessonsandCarols .

Like Polo at King Family? Tell the County

Personally, I think having polo at King Family Vineyards is a tremendous addition to Crozet.  More than 200 people attend polo. 🙂

From NBC29:

A Crozet vineyard is encouraging fans of its free Sunday polo to help keep the popular event going.

Changes to Albemarle County code now require King Family Vineyards get a special use permit if the matches attract more than 200 people.

And a comment there:

Dear Friends of Roseland Polo at King Family Vineyards, We hope you have enjoyed watching polo over the last 10 years as much as we have enjoyed hosting it! In the next few weeks, King Family Vineyards will be applying to Albemarle County for a Special Use Permit that will allow us to continue Sunday afternoon polo in its present format. If you would like to see polo continue, please send your message of support to Amelia McCulley, Zoning Administrator, Albemarle County, at [email protected]. Thanks for your support and we hope to see you again next year! Cheers, The King Family

Heck, if you don’t like polo, tell them that too.

Lessons and Carols at King Family Vineyards

From the Hope Presbyterian Church site:

LESSONS & CAROLS

Hope is thrilled to be offering a Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday December 8th, 7pm at King Family Vineyard. We will be co-hosting the event with our mother church (Trinity Presbyterian Church).

This is the longest running annual Lessons & Carols Event in the Virginia, patterned after the annual Festival of Lessons & Carols at King’s College, Cambridge, England. Choral and Congregational carols with orchestral accompaniment correspond successively to Scripture passage that herald and celebrate the coming of the promised Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30. Due to fire code, seating is very limited. (First Come, first served.) A mercy offering will be taken to help our churches serve those with crisis needs in our community.
