Crozet Trails Crew Workday

We will be having a workday this Saturday, November 23rd, in Crozet Park. Please meet at 10am at the Radio Building at the northwest corner of the park (behind the basketball courts). We will be cleaning up plant beds, adding mulch, and “sprucing-up” the building exterior, as well as cleaning and organizing the interior. Since Crozet Park is allowing us to use this building for storage, we are giving back. Also, there will be Park Board members to direct some of our organizational efforts.
At noon (once it warms up a little) we will also be painting the fences in this area. We have plenty of paint and brushes. Please bring gloves, water, warm clothes, and any cleaning items if you want to (brooms, rags, trash bags, spray, etc.). I am not sure what we will have access to (trail tools-yes, cleaning supplies-not so much).

CCAC Meeting 21 November 2013 Recap

Sounds like a lot was discussed at last night’s Crozet Community Advisory Council meeting. Huge thanks to WAHS student @Tim_Dodson, @CvilleKim, @tfjtolson and @crozetbulldogs (their Twitter names for the uninitiated 🙂 ) for tweeting the meeting. Thank you for taking the time to attend and share the information with the community.

The meeting recap – via tweets – is after the break. Click through, scroll to the bottom and make your way up. There’s a lot of relevant and pertinent Crozet information in there.

Some of the topics –

– Barnes Lumberyard development plan

– Streetscape update (there’s a meeting on 3 December)

– Jarman’s Gap/Crozet Avenue intersection (I still say roundabout)

– Safe Routes to School update

– Pedestrian improvements at Clover Lawn

– Design charette for the Barnes Lumberyard?

– Hotel update

Please read and be informed – and thank the folks who tweeted if you see them!

    Tony Holliday and the Velvetones

    10pm free
ENDORSED BY SHAKER HARMONICA MICS! and WINNER OF 2012 GORILLA MUSIC BATTLE OF THE BANDS–Tony Holiday and The Velvetones are full of blues goodness with a bit of a southern rock flare. They’re definitely impressive; Tony and his band will leave the crowd wanting more after each show. The skill of each musician is incredible. The music is enticing, energetic, and it’s damn near impossible to listen to and keep a desire to stay in your seat.
