There’s a busy day in Crozet this weekend –
– Crozet Trails Crew events
– Crozet Christmas Parade
– The Crozet Gazette & Art Box Calendar Photo Contest judging
– Make snowflake ornaments at Blue Ridge Beads & Glass?
Thank you everyone for adding events to the calendar. Slowly but surely it’s getting populated. Two of my goals for 2014:
– Have it be mostly self-populating – if you have regular events to add to the calendar, I can give you the ability to post events yourself. Just ask me .
– I’d like to post something every Friday morning noting the weekend’s events. There’s always a lot going on in Crozet from events at vineyards and breweries to things happening in Old Trail or the Crozet Library …
via email – (anyone have pictures of the Western Ridge bridge you could share?)
1. Albemarle County Parks and Rec is working to install the trail bridge near Westhall and some CTC folks have been helping. The concrete footers were poured last week. See attached photo. If you’d like to help with this effort, join the mid-week work crew by emailing me a request.

“Redmond’s team hosts Magna Vista at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in Round 2 of the 3A-West playoffs. It’s a match-up of one-loss teams that have had little problem putting points on the board this season.
“It’s a challenge, but it’s fun playing new teams, and teams that are equivalent to your skill,” Western quarterback Kent Henry said. “So it’s going to be a fun game. They’re a great team coming in from outside Roanoke. And they’re 10-1 now. It will be a fun game.”
Western Albemarle is the two-seed in the 3A-West bracket. The Warriors are coming off last Friday’s 42-14 win in Crozet against Cave Spring in the opening round of the playoffs. Seven-seed Magna Vista — which is also nicknamed the Warriors — is coming off a 51-49 win at home against Liberty-Bedford last Friday.”

I’m inspired by the simple joys in life and the sadness that makes those joys that much better. I write true, simple songs without much to them besides me and my guitar. My music comes from the the world around me: family, Virginia, girls, and a whole lot of traveling.
Next Sunday, December 1st, we will have the dedication of the Crozet Park Kiosk and 2012 Tree-Planting supporters plaque. We will be inviting all the parties who donated funds for the tree planting last fall and we will be recognizing the accomplishment of Eagle Scout (right?) Aaron Cole, who designed and built the kiosk this summer.
Please join us for a short ceremony at the kiosk (near the lower playground at Crozet Park) at 1pm on Sunday, December 1st. And come check out the trees, one-year later and looking great!
