Crozet Music Fest – Now in the Spring!

From their Facebook page:

Inquiring minds want to know, and you’ve been calling, so here you go. We can say with 95% certainty that the first Spring CMF will be held May 13, 14, and 15, 2011 at 4 sites in and around Crozet. The papers aren’t signed, but it looks like we’re good to go to return to Crozet Park with a Country/Bluegrass/Gospel mix…. Other locations can’t yet be confirmed, but there will be 3 more: a Festival Mix site (similar to what we’ve always done), a Christian Music site, and a fourth site variously called Guitarist Paradise, Banjo Paradise, and Drummer’s Paradise. Working on the locations for Sites 2, 3, and 4, will keep you all posted on the progress. Check the website for pics from last year: www.crozetmusicfestival.com

Henley Middle School Goes Solar

Read all about it at NBC29:

Thanks to that grant, and $40,000 in fundraiser money, the school will soon be outfitted with solar panels and other renewable resources that will power classrooms, heat the water system and lower energy costs. But, it’s also a hands-on learning experience.

Great Pizza in Crozet – Thanks for Noticing, USA Today

Thanks, USA Today.

Homemade dough, a perfect combination of sauce and spices, and a near endless list of toppings make Crozet Pizza in Crozet (15 miles west of Charlottesville) a destination for pie lovers. The appetizing ambience of the cozy shop is enhanced by a wood stove, a screen door that gently slaps closed with the arrival of each customer and the majestic backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Restore N Station Is Going to Happen

From the Newsplex:

Following a compromise between the Board of Supervisors and project developer, Jo Higgins, the Station will move forward as a 3,000 square-foot facility instead of 6,000 square feet, it will house five pumps with ten nozzles instead of eight pumps with 16 nozzles and will operate for 16 hours a day instead of 24.

Update from the Crozet Gazette:

But the supervisors proceeded and instructed the staff to draft clear language that limited the stations footprint to 3,000 sq. ft., with no future additions, four pump islands with eight nozzles for gas, one island with two nozzles for diesel fuel and two additional nozzles, one for kerosene and one for off-road diesel. Other conditions limited daily operation to 16 hours, forbade overnight parking, and required a meter on the well head and a flow restriction device that cut off the well at 1,624 gallons. The supervisors said the project would also have to conform to any requirements imposed by the Architectural Review Board, which has yet to approve the station’s site plan.
