Note from the Crozet Trails Crew

From Jessica Mauzy: (bolding mine)

I have a big favor to ask all of you. If you like to hike, walk, mountain bike, ride horses, birdwatch, flower watch, trail run, or hide from people in the woods, please come out and help the Crozet Trails Crew (fancy new name!!) plan and/or build trails. We need your help. We have a wonderful group of folks who are dedicated to the project, but that group is small and we need to increase our numbers. There are several different ways to be involved, depending on your availability, physical condition, and interests.

The next trail workday with be this Saturday, May 22nd, at 8am. We will meet at Beaver Creek reservoir at 8am. If we have enough folks come out for this build, we can have the Henley Hornets loop trail completed soon.

The next planning and update meeting will be on Thursday, June 10th. This will be an important meeting in that we will discuss our plans for the July 4th parade, and two fabulous trail work projects that we would like to have underway soon (upper upper loop at Mint Springs and the Crozet Connector Trail , including connector from Crozet Park to Cory Farms). Also, we will be talking about how Dan is currently working on getting an incentive program together for volunteers on the trail projects.

After the Henley Hornets trail at Beaver Creek Reservoir, we will begin work on the upper upper loop at Mint Springs park. This will be a great project for mountain bikers and hikers alike.

If you have any questions or suggestions about how you would like to be involved, please come to the June planning meeting or contact me.

Thanks for your interest in and support of the Crozet Trails Crew!

A connector between Crozet Park and Cory Farms would be outstanding! This sounds like a perfect job for Crozet kids from Henley and Western to do this summer.
