The Crozet Trails are one of the most important connective tissues in the Crozet Community, and they are always looking for new volunteers.
If you can make it out on the 7th, please do!
Please consider joining us Saturday, June 7th for a Trail Day! It’s time to take back the trail from the spring’s exuberant growth! We will take a morning to prune and trim the entire Connector Trail, from the park to Westhall. We are hoping for a large turnout, so we can separate into 3 or 4 groups to address different areas simultaneously. This is a great work day for older kids (with parents or guardians) or first-time volunteers. Bring your own tools or use ours. Wear sturdy shoes or boots (not flip flops) and bring your own water and bug spray. Gloves and long pants and sleeves are strongly recommended, as there are thorns on those vines! Also, it’s turning into a banner year for poison ivy, so we recommend you watch this video if you think you might not recognize it. Directions: Meet at the Trails Crew shed in Crozet Park at 8:30 AM. If you are driving, enter the park and keep to the left around the pool. The shed is straight ahead, directly next to the Radio Building adjacent to the parking lot. Note that parking is not allowed in that lot during the day. Sign up here for June 7th. For all work days, please dress for the weather, bring your own water, wear sturdy shoes or boots, and use bug spray. Please review our safety guidelines before joining a workday and complete and sign the Volunteer Waiver Form if you have not previously done so. |
