“Cheers for Charity” at Starr Hill Brewery: The Trails Crew will receive $1 for every pint of beer sold during April. So here is another opportunity to drink beer, plus learn how to take care of your bike. Cor, owner of Crozet Bike Shop, will teach us some simple bike maintenance. Door prizes — you could win a free bike tune-up. Why not ride your bike to the brewery — you know you don’t want to be doing your taxes.
Mondays and Thursdays, the Crozet Cycling Club will ride between 5-10 miles at a comfortable pace around Crozet. We’ll figure out the route, but most likely will include Mudhouse to Railroad Avenue to Mint Springs, back down to Lanetown Road and then Jarmans Gap.
The only requirements are a bicycle, helmet, and a desire to ride our beautiful roads!
Interested? Please let me know – email or call me anytime – [email protected] or 434-242-7140.
Wednesday mornings we meet at the Crozet Mudhouse at 6am and leave by 6:01am. We ride for an hour – usually between 16-19mph average, then have coffee and pastries.

“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.”
I was riding a few weeks ago and thought that while I’ve driven and shown houses/represented sellers on many/most of the roads in Crozet, the best way to learn the area is by bicycle.
So yesterday, I started. I did however forget to start Strava until I after I’d ridden on Railroad and through Mint Springs.
Crozet is a great place to ride a bike.
I’ve ridden a bicycle for a couple years now, and have found group rides to be a great way to ride – for community, camaraderie, pushing each other a bit, and pastries at the end of the ride. If you’re interested in riding for an hour each week with a few folks, please click through to the google form. If we have enough interest (and accommodating weather, maybe we’ll go next week). I promise nothing other than I’ll try to organize as best I can. I’ll put together a google group or something as we go.
