Two photos from Crozet’s recent past, February 2009 to be more precise.
I was digging through some older photos of Crozet and thought these were fun; each represents a very different time in Crozet – before Harris Teeter, and before Mudhouse.

Looks like a narrow lens to me. Why not take pictures of all the people who grew up here before 2010? Too bad, we can’t respect more about those who have lived here their whole lives. They deserve a lot more respect and involvement in what Crozet eventually becomes. Right now, it is simply greed, overdevelopment and a lack of roads to handle traffic and an aging underground sewer and water infrastructure in the business districts. The CCAC has done very little to consider those facts in the past 11+ years.
Well, the CCAC is unelected and self-serving, what do you expect it to do? It simply has no idea. Why do you care about who grew up here before 2010? Why do you pick that date and what respect are we owed? We are owed nothing as are you. This is the most nonsensical stuff I have read on here to date. Just live your life and be happy. You are aging at the same rate as the water and sewer you mention. What are you doing about that…

You are not speaking you are posting a narrative and want it your way. You bought into an area you know little about. You helped create what you now live in.
Too bad that you are unhappy about moving here. I am pretty sure y’all have missed the point. Nobody, absolutely nobody involved created the Crozet Growth Area
with the intention of it being an Urban area (Small City). That is the difference between the migrants and the rest of us. We know and understand this while you do not. Crozet is not even a Town. Whatever you left and are still searching for is simply not here. I think this guy’s narrative serves a purpose. It reaffirms my belief in what kind of people are coming here…
Edward, I don’t value your or Jim opinions. I have no agenda or narrative either. It is a free country; and I can express my opinion freely. We don’t live in Nazi Germany. “What kind of people”?? My point was what happened since 2010 without good planning or infrastructure.(Smart growth). You ignored all of that, Jim. Typical of you too. And yes Mr Strauss, I do care about a lot about the people who have had families here for many generations. Not just the people who came the past 15 years including greedy builders and developers clearcutting beautiful land; preserving very few trees. I know a few very self serving real estate agents too. People are not blind, Jim.

Yes, the growth areas were created generations ago. I have argued for decades that not enough was being done to build infrastructure commensurate with growth.

Also, we seriously need a true complete news source in the Crozet area, besides a once a month newspaper and a website. I mean all the news (good or not so good). I would absolutely invest in some unbiased news org for our community.

meaningful discussion involving facts says everything about you. Whatever self serving contributions you have made have no interest to me. If they actually meant anything I would have heard about them. Things have been rigged where I cannot reply directly to your comments. So you should practice what you preach and find a good mirror to practice having a conversation. Then look up internet public forum and understand that you are not owed agreement on what you think. What is nonsensical is your claimimg knowledge of something you know nothing about. All you have is opinion. You have the opinion of doing anything you want rather than doing nothing and contributing to what you complain about. You casnnot answer where an Urban area with Urban services was promised to you or anyone like you. Edward, You should meet me face to face this week. I don’r have an agenda or “narrative”. I simply don’t care what you think. You have zero internet presence except you occasional comments on this particular website. I have contributed actively to this community for 10+ years. I never have seen you in person in this Crozet community, Mr. Strauss. I am 58, not 28. I am also a combat vet. I know a lot of people in this community and these people know me. So go find another person to judge. I am focused on the community issues and strengths. There is nothing wise about judging a man you have never met face to face. Enough said.
